Basket Workbench

Create · size · rebalance stock baskets — entirely in this page, no install
1
Someone sends you 2 files
a basket .json and this page
→
2
You type your amount
₹50,000 or ₹5,00,000 — whatever you have
→
3
You get exact orders
how many shares of each, to place in your broker

Step 1 · Open the basket someone sent you

Drop the basket file here
the file a friend sent you — or one you made yourself in the share tab
or click to browse — or paste the text into the box below
Nothing is uploaded. No account, no server, no broker connection needed.

Step 2 · What's in it

optional · no key needed · the sheet’s own prices are used if you skip it

Step 3 · Do you already hold any of this basket?

This decides what comes next: an amount to invest, or a place to drop your holdings. Switch any time.

Step 4 · How much do you want to invest?

Looking for the holdings upload? That lives on the other path — switch to rebalance →

Enter the total rupees you want to put in. Indian exchanges only allow whole shares, so we round — and tell you the smallest amount that works.

Actually, I already hold some of this — rebalance instead →

Step 4 · Drop in your holdings

Your capital is whatever these are worth, so there is no amount to type. I compare them against the basket's targets and give you the exact buy and sell orders. Buying in fresh instead? →

Drop your holdings file XLSX / CSV
or click to choose one — nothing is uploaded, it is read in this tab
get it from Kite ↗ · or Console ↗
Where do I get this file?
Zerodha, from Kite (quickest)
  1. Open kite.zerodha.com/holdings
  2. Above the table on the right there is a small download icon (a downward arrow). Click it and choose XLSX or CSV.
  3. Drop the downloaded file here.
Zerodha, from Console — console.zerodha.com/portfolio/holdings, then Download at the top right.
Any broker export works. It needs a symbol column and a quantity column; a price column is used when present. Or skip the file entirely and paste the rows below.

Easiest · paste your order-confirmation email

Fully offline — the text never leaves this page. This is the easiest route: the email already has the exact stocks, quantities and fill prices.

Or type the stocks yourself

Symbols alone give you an equal-weight basket. Prices are only needed to turn weights into share counts — you can add them now or when you size it.

Or turn what you already own into a basket

Makes a shareable sheet out of your current holdings: each stock's weight is its share of your portfolio's present value. Use this when you are the one sending a basket. (Comparing your holdings against a basket someone sent you is Step 5 on the other tab.)

Any other broker works too. The file needs a symbol column, a quantity column, and a price column — headers can be named anything reasonable (Instrument, Qty., LTP, Avg. cost…) and extra columns are ignored.
No file? Select the holdings rows in your broker, copy them, and use the paste box in Step 5 on the other tab instead.

Weights, not share counts — so one sheet works at any capital and any price.
Verify every order in your broker before placing. Not investment advice.
